Q: How do you feel about this book after reading?
A: I feel quite entertained and charmed by the simple and effective writing of Monidipa. I was amused by the character's journey and also a bit saddened with some of her ugly experiences.
Q: What do you feel about the author’s style of writing, the content, and the subject matter ?
A: Monidipa's style of writing is extremely simple and that works in her favour. The book should reach to the maximum number of people and that happens when the writing is simple. Along with that, what also helps to get maximum readership is when the content is relatable. And again, Monidipa gets that right, and also with subject matter. We, men and women, have all met people who, initially, we think will be THE ONE but later, we have seen our hopes getting dashed, and how! Monidipa also brings to the fore several deal-breakers, like lack of personal hygiene, temper, misogyny and many more. As a result, it'll be easy for people to relate.
Q: What suggestions do you have for the book & the author?
A: As for suggestions, I wish she had delved a bit into the character's personal life as well. I mean, it's good that she kept the focus on just her relationships and crushes. But there are places when one wishes to know more about her life. Like when she got married to the Canadian and got ditched, what was the scene like in her house and among her friends? Was it tough to face them out of embarrassment? Same with the guy with the Tanjore painting. Who were her closest friends through all these tough times? Were they married? If yes, seeing them settled made her excited or repulsive about tying the knot? And what was her sister's story? Was she single or not? Hopefully, these questions can be answered, in the sequel!
Q: What is your overall opinion about this book which is getting launched in the market (from a critic’s point of view – on the language, style, edit, book cover designs, illustrations and other factors, if any)?
A: The language is simple and easy to comprehend. The style is also quite comforting - and very engaging. I can't believe I read the whole book in one go! I rarely do that, especially when it's an online e-book. But her writing was so nice that I didn't feel like closing the pdf file. Also, whenever the protagonist met a guy, I was looking forward to what happens next and trying to guess where this will go. The book cover design is quite appealing and gives the right vibe about the book.
Q: Rate the book from 1 to 5 (where 1 is the lowest score and 5 being the highest)
A: 3.5. I am glad Wolf Books is going well exploring different content. My best wishes are always with you. I hope to read many more novels from this rocking publishing house, and I would get to review more!
Keep rocking!
